As
the Family of San Jose, we are committed to develop a community to engage,
influence, and challenge our youth to purse higher Education. We are called as a religious community to
minister to the whole family to respond with compassion to the physical,
emotional, spiritual, and educational needs of our Youth. We will teach our families the skills necessary
to build relationships by providing training to be their child’s advocate, to
form relationships that can be translated into effective and reflective
participation in our public and common life.
As a faith-based organization, the San Jose Education Committee wants to
make sure that our youth and families are provided not only with information
about education but the tools they need to accomplish their goals and
dreams. Our faith and understanding of
social justice tells us that human dignity can be realized and protected only
in community. Our understanding of basic
human rights is rooted in a view of the person as not only sacred, but
social. When the education system leaves
so many of our children behind, it affects human life itself, and renders this
system in serious need of help and reform.
